denton in Lincolnshire is an ancient roman settlement, but it may also be a site of the beaker culture based on some archaeological finds made recently. This settlement hits the mark of 2,600 acres in size. A parish church lies within this settlement and it is said to have 6 bells in the tower, 4 of which witch being from 1782, the bells have only been re-hung twice, once in 1855 and once in 1994. This settlement does not have a local village shop. Denton has a private estate which is home to a series of large ponds, close by is a freshwater spring hidden in a cave built from fossils and shells, which is called “St.. Christopher’s well”. Inside the cave is an inscription to the faery of the well. This was built in 1823 for the Welby family, who owned Denton Park
