little ponton is a small village located about 3 miles south of Grantham just off the former A1 (the B1174). The village was held by the Romans as a military station, at least based on the number of Roman coins, urns, arches, etc. found in the parish. Little Ponton had a water pumping station, part of the Grantham Water Works, around 1900.
